Coming home from the Hospital

Now have him back home since Monday, May 18th and he is doing really well. His catheter was removed on Monday as well, because he is already able to urinate by himself.  He tries to run and jump which we won't let him, but he is, as always, full of life. He also has a lion-appetite and takes him various pills without a problem. He bolted his cage once about 2 feet away, but we caught him quickly, and that is why we occasionally sedate him with tranquillizers the vet sent home with us. We also use them when we are gone (work, school), just in case.
We have been treating his incision with cold packs until today, where we are putting heat to it. He didn't mind the cold but loves the heat, with the weather being all over the place.
Today he had trouble peeing (didn't go in 24 hours) so we took him to the vet, who showed us a few tricks how to make him more comfortable urinating. (If you want to know the trick, comment or email me). It worked and he can now confidentally pee by himself.
Here is Shawn, my husband, applying heating pad (grain bag) to Leo's back, they both are falling totally asleep ( and SNORE!).

All in all, Leo is doing well, barking, howling, complaining, snoring, eating, peeing, and growling at the neighbors cat.
We are very happy about his recovery so far and can't wait to be there for him along the way, and if you feel like it, you can be here, too, cheering from all over the world.

Love,
Sophia, Shawn, especially Leo and Flummi (Leo's younger Mini Schnauzer brother)
